A postcard from Bordeaux

regentI just can't believe how amazing Bordeaux was: sunny weather, warm temperature, for a really fascinating "reward trip": 30 amongst the best contractors from the Company.

We found immediately a warm ambiance with the winegrower barbecue lunch in a Medoc chateau with wine tasting: have you ever tasted meat grilled on vine shots, sit at table in a vine with a glass of Bordeaux?

Cruise back to Bordeaux city on board a barge on the Garonne River, with a short introduction to Bordeaux Wines by a professional.

Panoramic tour of this splendid 18th century city, classed at the world heritage: a living and colourful town, with nice shops and beautiful avenues, before accommodation at the hotel: a beautiful 4star hotel in the Medoc vineyard, close to Bordeaux, inside a 2x18 holes golf course!

The entire trip has been really appreciated.

Activities remained sustained: rally in the vineyards driving collector cars “Traction Avant”, discovery of the lovely medieval "Saint Emilion" city with an outstanding lunch at Michelin star restaurant, discovery of the Arcachon basin on board oyster farmers’ “Pinasse” (boat), GPS quad bike and canoe raid in the endless Landes forest…

Some of us have preferred staying at the hotel, and enjoy the spa, with a turn of golf and a commented visit of a "wine chateau", Grand Cru Classé",  in the neighbourhood…

Great dinners, (an ancient storehouse facing the floodlit city, with a jazz band, the dining room of a wine estate, a "grand cru Classé", with a classical trio, or in a small vineyard inn along the Garonne river), nightlife and leisure activities, from bars and nightclubs to "bodegas".

Last but not least, we have even made our own wine from blend of grape varieties!

I brought my bottle back home: I will drink it with my friends by telling them this fabulous trip.

I really have fallen under Bordeaux's spell!
